Noise Cancelling Earphones
These Etymotic headphones seem pretty cool. I'm going to check them out further, but the price makes me gag a bit (especially for the ER-4 model).

I have some of the low-end professional Shure earbuds, which I got on Ebay at a nice discount. They do such a good job of blocking room noise that people often sneak up on me when I'm wearing them.
I'd definitely recommend seeing if you can find the ones you want on Ebay to save $.
